The guy from Watford who gave us our brief and transported us was lovely, However this company have smaller helicopters and we even managed to ride in the front. Because there were only two of us we would not have been able to do this trip without a third person and this is another reason our original operator cancelled as it wasn’t a busy day. Our pilot Sam was warm, friendly, knowledgable and made this trip once in a lifetime. So I would say if you can be flexible and wait throughout the day or even stay another night then do so. The only people to land all day! This was towards the end as most places’ last flight is 4pm and this was our time. In the 30 minutes prior the weather improved and not only did we get to fly but we also managed to land. We were offered 10 minutes of fly time and jumped at the chance.
Initially we didn’t think we would be able to fly, and the company we’d booked with didn’t fly at all that day. We walked into heli services and it felt like they did everything they could to make this trip incredible for us. We had a long drive following our booking so weren’t sure whether to stick around as there were no helicopters flying.
